These three words all refer to areas of very wet land.

A marsh is any area of low land that is wet and muddy because water cannot drain away from it properly.

◊ 'bog'
A bog is an area of very soft, wet land which is dangerous to cross. Bogs consist of decaying plant material.

◊ 'swamp'
A swamp is a wild area of very wet land with flowers and sometimes trees growing in it.
